The Story of a Young Man Named Jim
Re-told by Imzadi (Bozoz)

(This is a true story, as I heard it on the radio.)

Jim was disappointed with living on the East Coast. He was a young man. He decided to move. He told his neighbors that they could have anything that they wanted in his apartment, because he was going to live in California.

He went to California. Life was hard there, so he ended up homeless, living on the streets, and sleeping on the steps of a building. He would wander into the "red light" section of the city, because he hated to go to the steps to sleep until he absolutely had to.

One night, the police picked him up. They said, "To be in THIS neighborhood, you're either "pushing" (drugs) or "dealing" (prostituting yourself). They arrested him, and put him in the back of the police car.

Jim begged. He said that he wasn't doing anything wrong.

The policemen said, "What do you do for a living?"

Jim said, "I tell jokes."

The policemen didn't believe him, so they said, "Well, tell us a few jokes."

So Jim started. He told jokes like "A man walks into a bar" and many other jokes in many other formats. The policemen laughed, and laughed!

Finally, after about an hour of listening to his jokes, the policemen let him go. However, they would never forget Jim and his jokes. You see, a few years later, Jim's name became JAY LENO! The steps he had been sleeping on were the steps of The Comedy Club!

"And now you know the rest of the story."
