There's a new world coming
And it's just around the bend
There's a new world coming
This one's coming to an end
There's new voice calling
You can hear it if you try,
And it's growing stronger with each day that passes by.
There's a brand new morning
Rising clear, and sweet and free
There's a new day dawning
that belongs to you and me
Yes, a new world coming
The one we've had visions of
Coming in peace!
Coming in joy!
Coming in love!
Yes, a new world coming
The one we've had visions of
Coming in peace!
Coming in joy!
Coming in love!
Coming in love, etc.
I find that people are often confused on terms.
Race has to do with BIOLOGY. It refers to a person's COLOR, hair type and facial features.
Religion has to do with a person's BELIEF SYSTEM in regards to faith, divinity, and worship.
Nationality has to do with one's POLITICAL allegiance, or ancestors' political allegiance to a country, such as Irish,Polish, Russian, etc. ... or, in the USA, Irish-American, Italian-Amercan, and so on. Black Americans, most of whom have lost their former identities of country, are defined by the continent of origin...hence African-American.
Culture has to do with a set of BEHAVIORS of a group of people. It is closely tied to ethnicity. Hispanic is a culture. In this country (USA) it includes Mexicans, and Puerto Ricans. I do NOT see Black Americans as having a real "culture", except for music...blues,gospel, spirituals, popular music and jazz. A lot of what passes for "Black culture" is what is made-up... as in "rap-music". It did NOT grow naturally. It was hyped up by music promoters. Gangs and drive-by shootings are NOT part of any culture. Kwanzaa was a holiday started by ONE man.
I hope this helps people who are a bit confused on terms. :-)
